I am yet to meet a person who has not heard of Amway. The word is synonymous with great quality products which are supremely efficient and effective with respect to the needs they were created for. Products like Glister toothpaste, S8 detergent and the Artistry range of cosmetics have become household names with a loyal following. In recent times, Amway has been seen often on TV by way of the Nutrilite commercials. The Nutrilite range provides a range of vitamins and dietary supplements to millions of people across the world every day. And now the Nutrilite Traditional Herbs have delved into the wisdom of ancient science of Ayurveda to bring us 4 new solutions.

This range of traditional herbs is not new to India and us.

Tulsi – the holy basil has been used since time immemorial for its healing properties. There is hardly a household which does not have the Tulsi plant in their window garden. Its leaves have been added to tea, kaadhas, holy water or simply chewed on. Tulsi is known to support immunity and has anti-oxidant properties. Each capsule of Nutrilite Tulsi has the goodness of over 100 tulsi leaves. I was very impressed to hear this fact and it reassured me of the benefits of consuming Nutrilite Tulsi.

Brahmi is another herb which my mother has always spoken of to sharpen brain power. Brahmi oil is very famous all over India and has been renowned for its effects on lustrous hair growth. Brahmi as a herb has a deeper connection with the head. It is known to improve mental agility, alertness, concentration and attention. Sounds like a great herb for students and officegoers alike.

The goodness of Ashwagandha is in its roots. It is known to support vitality and eases stress. It calms the nervous system and boosts body functioning. If this is something you are looking to try, you can always buy ashwagandha on Amazon. What would we do without the internet!

If you have not heard of Amalaki, Vibhitaki and the Haritaki enlightening herb, you may have still heard of Triphala, which means 3 fruits. These 3 fruits are Amalaki, Vibhitaki and Haritaki. This set of herbs is great for the digestive system. They are known for supporting digestion, soothing hyperacidity and detoxifying body systems. I have been having this particular pack of Nutrilite supplements for the last 3 weeks. I do feel light and see much less incidence of gas, hyperacidity and bloating.

But when all this ancient wisdom and products are so prevalent all across India, why should you buy an Amway Nutrilite product?

What’s special about Nutrilite Traditional Herbs

When #babyT was born I was recommended to personally consume and give my newborn a lot of ayurvedic herbs and potions. Like any new mother, I did a lot of research on this and discovered studies which showed that there was very less goodness in most of the herbal remedies. The herbs which our forefathers consumed and blossomed with could not be said to be of the same quality today as all those years ago. There was also evidence of heavy metals and other harmful contaminants in some of the popular ayurvedic brand of products which put the human body at severe risks. I decided not to pursue any ayurvedic products for this fear.

When I attended the Amway bloggers meet in Mumbai this month, I and many other bloggers had the same question in our mind. How do you ensure safety and quality of these herbs?

Ajay Khanna the Category Head of Amway’s Nutrition and Wellness vertical in India told us how each farm where the herbs were grown went through innumerable tests and failed. So-called organic farms were also found to be lacking in terms of purity and contamination free nature of the soil. Amway then adopted a tough “seed to supplement” approach. Under this stringent processes were put into place to ensure they selected the right farm, the active ingredient, seeds, species, followed the right extraction process, processing to finally arriving at the right product.

In addition to this Amway Nutrilite followed 3 principles of Purity, Safety and Potency.

Purity – The herbs that were used as raw material were sourced only from those farms which passed the OneCert Asia Agri Certification. This looks at the entire process of growing, harvesting and processing. They also undertook a process called DNA fingerprinting of herbs in order to ensure the right quality. This is something to DNA checking the plants to ensure only the best (plant) genes go into the Nutrilite supplements. This process also highlights contamination. Multi-level checks such as these have surely ensured the purity of the Nutrilite range.

Safety – All the Nutrilite dietary nutraceuticals are manufactured in the Amway plant in Tamil Nadu. This plant follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and in addition to this is LEED Gold certified. This ensures that the products that arrive in our bottle are of the highest quality.

Potency – The Nutrilite traditional range of herbs have a high concentration of active ingredients which are extracted right from the herbs. The herbs are also certified organic and strictly adhere to the standards set by the National program on Organic Production.

The range of Nutrilite Traditional Herbs is also entirely in line with the Government’s “Make in India” initiative.
