We spent our summer holidays in Hong-Kong. And needless to say as is the norm, we planned our trip entirely from Instagram recommendations. About a month before we travelled we searched for and bookmarked a few reels and posts about things to do, places to visit and foods to eat. Following that we received a barrage of posts full of recommendations for Hong-Kong. I guess that is the norm these days. But what stood out and soon became a mission was Egg-Tart in Hong Kong. I had to find the best one.

Hong Kong is a city where food is both an art and a tradition, and no culinary experience is complete without indulging in the iconic egg tart. From buttery shortcrust to flaky puff pastry versions, these golden delights are so irresistible that people willingly queue up for hours to taste the best. Gulabjaam – a mouthwatering movie not to miss

My love for food is well known in social circles. And to top that I married into a community who also love their food. In our house, the most common discussion is “Aaj jevaila kai karaicha?” Marathi for “What should we cook today?” We think of food in our waking moments and in slumber mode too. And the icing on the cake or the Kesar on our gulab jamun is that we don’t just love to eat, we love to cook it. Mommy’s Day out – Brunching at SodaBottleOpenerWala

Mommy’s day out… such a rare phenomenon once you have a baby and add to it if you are a SAHM whose baby is so used to having you around the house that stepping out alone seems next to impossible. But leisure time for moms is so important because a happy mommy means happy baby right?

So when Ritu the founder of JAMMS (Journey about Mast Moms) network organised a mommy brunch at the newly opened Sodabottleopenerwala at Powai (#SBOWPowai) I jumped at the chance.
